GUIDE FOR RESTAURANT OPERATORS

What to check in a
maintenance agreement.

Before comparing fees, compare the scope. These questions help you understand what you are buying and how your restaurant will be supported.

SIX USEFUL QUESTIONS

A clear agreement
starts with questions.

01

Which equipment is included?

Ask for a list of equipment and areas. Clarify what is inspected and what is outside the scope.

02

What is done and how often?

Check frequency, duration, tasks, access and hours. A visit does not mean every item is checked in equal depth.

03

What does the recurring fee cover?

Distinguish checks, minor adjustments, travel, spare parts and additional repairs.

04

How are faults handled?

Clarify reporting, availability, priorities and agreed response arrangements. Do not assume immediate response unless agreed.

05

What records do I receive?

Ask about completed work, findings and follow-up. A maintenance history does not replace statutory certificates.

06

How does renewal or cancellation work?

Review duration, notice, renewal, scope changes and financial terms before signing.

What does it cost?

There is no universal fee: equipment, condition, frequency and tasks matter. A comparable quote should explain these factors and items billed separately.
